Natural labor - Herbal Remedies have been used during labor for many years
A natural labor is what every woman wants during childbirth - In reality, in the Western world having a baby can sometimes seem a very different experience from the natural event it is meant to be. It can be very clinical in fact, with hospital smells and lots of equipment! However, herbal remedies still have a part to play in this most amazing of human experiences, and a calming, soothing herbal tea can work its magic during all the stages of labour. A natural labor can be achieved though through a little preparation and thought before the big event.
Firstly, to prepare yourself for the event of labor, it could be useful to prepare and drink 2 cups of raspberry leaf infusion every day for the last six weeks of your pregnancy. Then take an additional 20 drops of blue cohosh tincture in water each day during the final three weeks.
Massaging the abdomen during early labor with a mixture of 10 drops of nutmeg, clove or sage, diluted in 15ml or 1tsp of almond oil.
You could also use a hot compress that has been steeped in an infusion of marigold and apply it to be lower part of the abdomen just above the pubic area.
There is no doubt that labor is usually an extremely painful and stressful time for a woman's body, natural though it may be, but to help your body recover from the stress, after labor you could take six homeopathic Arnica tablets every 1/2 hour or so for a few hours to soothe.
Also, for the month period following childbirth, you could take a small glass (sherry glass) of Dang Gui tonic wine daily. For breech births, see
