It Just Comes Natural
When we say 'it just comes natural', wouldn't it be great to be able to say it about feelings such as happiness, contentment, satisfaction, joy, abundance, good health etc.
The Bible tells us 'be still and know that I am God'.
Today, we are living in a world full of noise as well as toxic waste. It is a rare event to be able to be still and just listen to the sounds of the natural world.
Mankind has evolved over the centuries living in tune with the natural world, until just the last 200 years or so, when we experienced an industrial revolution that replaced natural sounds with the constant whirring of machinery. These new noises offer no beauty, and certainly don't have an affinity with our spirit.
All holistic therapies encourage us to seek out once again the tranquility of the natural world, where indeed it just comes natural to become aware of our inner spirit, to feel at peace and harmony and to feel at one with nature once again.
As we all know, there are traditions that encourage no idle talk, or indeed no talk whatsoever, as our speech can be distracting and superfluous. Many people feel threatened by silence and stillness, and feel the need to cover it up with talk, no matter what talk, to cover up their feelings of awkardness with the silence. Silence conjurs up different feelings for different people, but many find themselves afraid of it and need to fill it with idle talk and gossip, playing music or listening to the television.
Silence is vital however for our pyschological and physical health and wellbeing. Actually, it just comes natural to be quiet at times, and we can learn to discover the benefits of silence through the practice of meditation. When we meditate we re-discover the silence that is our birthright. When we re-discover it, we will soon realise that it just comes natural! We don't need to try very hard to experience it, but we need to make sure we fit it in to our everyday lives, and very soon you will find that you won't want to miss your silent time, your time to let it just come natural to be quiet, relaxed and re-charging your inner being, your spirit.
