Holistic Pet Health
Holistic life living is not intended to be purely for the benefit of human beings! Oh no, our pets are just as entitled to living a stress-free and healthy holistic life as we are.
I own cats, three of them, gerbils and fish - and fairly recently started to think about their lifestyles - were they living holistic lives, or could I do more to help them to reach and maintain maximum health.
It is a little more difficult to ascertain whether your pet is in really good health, but with a little attention paid to them for a while, you will learn how their behaviour will display whether they are happy or anxious and need a little help with holistic therapies and a more holistic approach to life in general.
For example, do you know what is in the cat food that you provide your cat on a daily basis? Is it providing your pet with a well-balanced diet, or could you perhaps add a vitamin or two to ensure they are getting the right amount of nutrition from their food.
Do you spend time cuddling your pet, to help make sure that it feels loved and nurtured, thus helping him/her to feel relaxed, happy and 'chilled-out'? We humans respond well to touch - in fact it is an essential element of our wellbeing to be touched in a loving, caring way on a regular basis - so our pets obviously would stand to benefit from our loving treatment of them. Talking to them in a gentle and kind way will soothe them and you will soon see a change in anxious behaviour if you do this on a regular basis.
Make sure your pet is vaccinated regularly, or at least attends the vet once a year to make sure that he/she is in good health.
Providing a nurturing, cosy and comfortable place for your pet to rest without being too disturbed by family activity, will also help your animal to achieve excellent health, as good rest is just as essential for them as it is for us!

Colour can be used extremely effectively as a healing medium. This ebook that I have written is full of useful information on how to incorporate colour in to your life and use it to promote good health. You could try some of the principles on your pet, perhaps as a form of holistic pet health, such as using the coloured silks, to see what benefit colour can have on your pet. It costs $7, and is available through the link below.
