Colour Therapy dressing - find out what colours work for you

Colour Therapy dressing
Colour is a language. The use of colour therapy for dressing and decorating (our homes as well as ourselves!) is becoming more widely recognised as we become more in tune with the concept of colour being a language and the key to who we are.

We are born with a colouring and that colouring gives us clues to the type of personality we have, and also an idea of what our strengths and weaknesses are. There is a school of thought that we actually choose the time and place of our birth, who our parents are, and what are social circumstances are, to give us the best opportunities to fulfill our soul's blueprint here on earth. Our personal colouring can provide us with opportunities to give us the tools we need to learn our life lessons.

We generally feel the therapeutic use of colour in our dress and decor when we are wearing or are surrounded by the colours of our aura, as these colours are in harmony and resonate with our own vibrations, creating a joyful and harmonious life experience. We are intuitively drawn to colour energies that we need, and a colour therapist can help us clarify these needs.

How often have you gone to the wardrobe full of clothes, only to declare that there is nothing to wear?! The reason for this is that we cannot find the colour that we need for that day.

We usually associate colour therapy with coloured silks or light, but it can be used very effectively in other ways. In colour therapy dressing carefully chosen colours can have a massive impact on how we feel.

It is bound to happen that we sometimes need the colours that we dislike. As we do need all the colours of the spectrum, we need to introduce such colours very slowly and gradually, otherwise we will create a subconscious rejection of this colour.

Another point is that we sometimes choose colours that are not good or beneficial to us. This can sometimes happen because we are drawn to colours that:

  • remind us of childhood;
  • are traditional colours of a particular place/religion;
  • or are fashionable at the time

    If we wear a certain colour on a regular basis, then this represents an energy imbalance. For example, wearing too much blue can make you feel depressed and lonely and lethargic. By introducing a warmer uplifting shade, you can raise your spirits. We need to have a play around with the colours and shades until we find the colour/shade that feels right for us.

    We have daily opportunities to feel the energy provided to us from all the colours of the spectrum. The seasons of the year have their own qualities and colours. By being outdoors more, we can benefit from the quality of the hues of the particular season and become more in touch with nature and all that it has to offer us in our health and wellbeing.
